Gun violence in the United States results in thousands of deaths and injuries annually. Thanks to a nonprofit, nonpartisan project known as the Gun Violence Archive (GVA), data on gun homicides and nonfatal shootings is now available well before the federal government releases its statistics. Those data include location information that makes it possible to plot those shootings on a map showing how many have taken place in your vicinity. According to GVA, there were 53,280 gun violence incidents in 2015. There has been a lot of debate on gun violence. As a DWI law firm, we would like to make sure this information is available to everyone. We’ve created a graph that sums up the number of gun violence incidents in 2015.
Gun violence and crime incidents are collected/validated from 1,500 sources daily – incidents and their source data are found at the gunviolencearchive.org website.
